Leave it to the men in my family to come up with a way to make apple cider donuts even sweeter: by making them into Apple Cider French Toast, and of course dousing them in maple syrup. My husband came up with this idea, my son gobbled it up and my sister said her husband would totally order that if he saw it on a restaurant menu. I was hesitant at first, but they sure were delicious. And plus, coating them with eggs and milk adds some protein, right?
It’s the time of year when it’s pretty hard to leave Weaver’s Orchard without a bag of apple cider donuts, let alone apple cider and sweet and crisp apples like Honeycrisp.
This recipe is incredible with fresh cider donuts, but would also work well if any of your donuts should get stale before you have a chance to eat them.

Ingredients
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup milk
- 4 apple cider donuts
- Butter
- Maple Syrup to taste
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs with the milk.
- Slice the donuts in half.
- Dip both sides of the donuts in the egg mixture.
- Melt butter in a saute pan on medium low heat.
- Cook the donuts for a few minutes on each side.
- Serve warm with maple syrup.
