Week Two of Orchard Explorers, on planting and composting, proved to be yet another exciting, educational, and interactive experience.
The seven Explorers and their parents expanded on the soil lesson from Expedition 1 and focused on Composting and Planting here at Weaver’s Orchard.
Explorers set up a worm bin, made their own soda bottle compost containers to take home, and designed and planted three raised beds.
These beds will be a focus of the remaining expeditions ending with a Harvesting Expedition where we will make pizza from the bounty of the Explorers’ hard work.
