One of my favorite fall salads includes homegrown apples, nuts, dried fruit and some kind of cheese. Wondering what to do with apples you picked while apple picking at our orchard? A combination of fresh, healthy recipes and sweet, baked good recipes is a great place to start!
While I’m always tempted to try tasty recipes including baked apples, the simplicity of eating fresh apples often wins out!
This apple salad recipe is simple and versatile. Try it with your favorite nuts or dried fruit and the crumbled cheese of your choice. I chose Honeycrisp apples, walnuts, dried cranberries and blue cheese with a balsamic vinaigrette.

Honeycrisp Harvest Salad
Ingredients:
- 4 cups spring mix lettuce
- 1 Honeycrisp apple
- 1/8 red onion
- Nuts such as walnuts or pecans
- Dried fruit such as cranberries or cherries
- Crumbled cheese such as Gorgonzola or goat cheese
- Balsamic vinaigrette
Instructions:
- Wash the lettuce and remove any long stems.
- Wash and slice the apple and onion.
- Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Serve and enjoy!
