Cherry Vanilla Latte Syrup

There’s something so therapeutic about the ritual of crafting the perfect latte. I love taking a pause in the afternoon to spend a few slow, extra minutes pulling the shot, steaming the milk, and bringing it all together. It’s an extra special treat when I have something as delicious as this cherry vanilla latte syrup to finish it off!

When added to your coffee, it tastes like summer in a cup—the deep, tart cherry flavor perfectly complements the rich notes of the espresso. Even better, this syrup works beautifully in both hot and iced lattes, making it ideal for whatever the weather brings—whether you’re cozying up during a rainy  spell or cooling down in a sudden heatwave.

Best of all, you can make this syrup with cherries picked right here at Weaver’s Orchard! I recommend using sweet cherries, but both sweet and tart varieties offer wonderful flavor. Check the Weaver’s Pick-Your-Own schedule here, and in no time you can add this delightful cherry vanilla latte syrup to your own afternoon coffee ritual. Cherry Vanilla Latte Syrup

  • Author: Abbi Shaeffer
  • Prep Time: 20 minutes
  • Cooling Time: 1 hour
  • Total Time: 1 Hour 20 Minutes
  • Yield: 6 three-tbsp servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 espresso shot
  • Milk of Choice
  • Ice, if desired

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, add the cherries, sugar, water, and vanilla. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and allow to simmer for 15 minutes until vibrantly colored and slightly thickened. Remove from the stove, let cool slightly, and strain.
  2. Prepare your espresso shot. If you want a hot latte, steam your milk. If you want an iced latte, fill a glass with ice.
  3. Combine 3 tbsp of the cherry vanilla syrup (or more or less to taste), espresso, and milk. If you’re preparing an iced latte, I suggest starting with the syrup, then the milk, then finishing with espresso. If you’re preparing a hot latte, I suggest adding the syrup to the  espresso and then pouring the milk. Tip: You can also add the cherry syrup directly  to the milk and steam it that way for flavorful and pretty pink milk foam!
  4. Store syrup sealed in the fridge for up to a week, and add as desired to additional lattes and cups of coffee whenever you want!
