Peel the pears and then slice them into thin slices. Toss in a medium bowl with the applesauce and sugar.
Grease a pie plate or rimmed cookie sheet with butter, oil or cooking spray.
Lay the pie crust down on the pie plate/cookie sheet. Fill with pear mixture, leaving about 3-4″ around the edges. Fold the edges up over the pear mixture. Brush with beaten egg. Bake at 375 for 30-35 minutes until golden brown on the edges. Remove from oven. Cool 10 minutes before serving. Makes 4-6 servings.
