The Second Edition of Weaver’s Orchard’s farm-to-table cookbook is filled with delicious recipes for using and preserving local produce. Find healthy recipes to help you follow a ‘clean eating’ or vegetarian diet, and make many traditional Berks County favorite recipes.
Over the years, we have collected so many delicious in-season recipes through our popular blog and cooking classes that we decided to gather them into a convenient spiral-bound format with beautiful professional food photos.
Our 235-page 2nd edition cookbook features 150 recipes, each one including seasonal produce that customers can find at Weaver’s Orchard throughout the year—from Asparagus in April to Pumpkins in October and November! Many of the recipes are gluten-free, vegan or vegetarian.
The cookbook is divided into chapters that highlight a particular homegrown fruit or vegetable. Chapters begin with articles about the crop, with nutrition facts, pick-your-own advice, cooking tips, and numerous recipes.
The cookbooks make thoughtful gifts for food-lovers including friends and family, teachers and party hosts. They’re also good to keep in mind for the holidays: they make the perfect addition to our fruit baskets or apple boxes that can be shipped nationwide.
Our first edition was sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture Direct Farm Sales Grant administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. Those copies were given out complementarily.
