About Our Award-Winning Apple Cider
Our fresh-pressed apple cider is a local favorite as well as being an award-winner! In the last four years, we have taken home 1 st through 4 th place in the Mid-Atlantic Apple Cider Contest, being judged against the best apple ciders from Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey!
The rich, crisp taste of our preservative-free apple cider can be attributed to four generations of experience combined with the wide variety of our own homegrown apples used in production. Also, you will never find preservatives inhibiting the flavor of our cider – just pure, fresh-pressed apple cider!
Weaver's Orchard apple cider is made from at least five varieties of apples. Our quality tree picked apples are thoroughly washed and brushed before we use them to ensure that we give you an excellent tasting cider. We also maintain a clean and sanitary pressing operation in accordance to HACCP.
We use a process called “cider sure” as a safe alternative to heat pasteurization for our apple cider. It is a fully automatic cider treatment system which uses the latest in germicidal ultraviolet technology and computer controls. It is approved by the FDA to kill any harmful bacteria. Ultraviolet treatment has been used for bottled drinking water for the past 25 years. Unlike pasteurization, ultraviolet treatment does not heat the cider, so the taste of the cider is not changed. As a result, we now are able to provide a safer, longer lasting product that will continue to taste like the cider you have grown to love.
We start the cider making process in early September and offer fresh cider throughout the winter. Our frozen apple cider is available in the market year-round.
Throughout the fall, individuals can see our cider press in action during many of our Fall Family Fun Day events as well as on school tours and other private tours.
